Installing Mongrel

June 7, 2009

Mongrel works substantially faster than the default Webrick web server, so even in the development environment you might want to start using it. It’s actually very simple to switch from Webrick to Mongrel, just run the following command:
gem install mongrel

Then restart the web server (ruby script/server) and that’s it. It should show that you’re running Mongrel now.
